Project Cinderella collecting gently used prom dresses

A trio of women are working to make prom magical for high school girls in need of dresses, shoes and accessories in Eastern Carolina.

Kelly Williams started "Project Cinderella" with two friends in 2017, after they decided it was finally time to donate some of their formal gowns they knew they'd never wear again.

In the first year of collecting items and holding a give-away, the group helped about 40 girls get ready for their prom.

"It was great, it was awesome, they all were appreciative, all of them went away with a dress... we had two events last year, the first one they all went away with a dress, shoes and acessories and the second one we didn't have as many shoes and accessories to give but they all went away with a dress," Williams said.

Williams says there were a couple of girls they didn't have the right sizes for last year, and so they hope to collect even more for the 2018 event.

The group is collecting gently-used formal wear in all sizes and lengths until March 2. You can drop-off long prom dresses, shoes, jewlrey and accessories at Flagship Property Management at 3105-C S. Evans St.

The "Fabulous & Free" give-away event is being held on Saturday, March 10 from 11am - 2pm at the University Church of Christ at 100 Crestline Blvd. in Greenville. The event is open to all high-school age girls. Student ID or proof of grade level is required. For more of these related news by ombrepro.com here now...come on, all of you will like us for wedding dresses!
